Sophomore FAQ

If you have already registered for your courses for the following semester, you are still required to attend one of our advising sessions. You are not required to be at the session for the entire 50 minutes. For example, after the presenters have finished going over the Power Point, you are welcome to depart the session if all your questions have been answered.

No, even though our advising session covers GE, you still need to schedule an appointment with your GE or Major Advisor if required.

Yes, we will continue to be here for the following semester. The goal is to provide resources and services for sophomore level students to succeed.

We offer lower division general education planning, assistance with major exploration for undeclared students, and student transition to upper division course work. Our main goal is to retain sophomore students and help them towards a timely graduation.

Sacramento State juniors (students with 60 units) are required to take English 109W, 109M or the WPJ.

Our recommendation is that you register for at least 15 units a semester so that you can graduate within four years. If you have trouble acquiring classes or feel more comfortable taking less units this is understandable.
