EVENING/WEEKEND DEGREE PROGRAM

Students admitted into the Evening/Weekend Degree Programs can complete major requirements by enrolling in a sequence of courses over a two to three year period. Students accepted into these programs receive registration priority as long as they remain in the program. The only current program is in Liberal Studies.

The Liberal Studies program, an approved elementary subject matter major for prospective elementary school teachers, offers an evening/weekend bachelor's degree program available to transfer students, and in limited cases, continuing CSUS students. To be eligible to enter this program a prospective student must first complete all lower division Liberal Studies requirements in addition to lower division graduation requirements and other specified course requirements. Please contact the Liberal Studies program at 278-6342 for an official evaluation of your coursework and detailed information about the program.

In addition to Liberal Studies, other undergraduate programs offer enough evening, weekend or distance education course to enable a student to complete a degree by attending only evenings, weekends or on-line. Although these programs do not follow the "cohort model" with a planned sequence of courses over a two to three year period, students can complete degrees with proper planning and advising. Examples of these programs are: Art Studio, Child Development, Communication Studies, Criminal Justice, English, Government, History, Philosophy, Social Work and Vocational Education.
