of the University's educational services and are in concert with
the University's overall mission and purpose. Classes are expected
to meet the standards of quality, which the institution sets for its

of instruction, evaluation and support services. For further information

Maximum Credit Policy
A student may enroll in 6.0 units without petitioning. The petition process requires approval of both the student's major advisor and the Dean of the College of Continuing Education. The Excess Units Petition can be obtained at
CCE prior to registration.
Social Security Number
Applicants are required to include their correct social security number
(individual taxpayer identification number) in designated places on
applications for admission pursuant to the authority contained in Section
41202, Title 5, California Code of Regulations, and Section 6109 of the
Internal Revenue Code. The University uses the social security number to
identify records pertaining to the student for purposes of financial aid
eligibility and disbursement and the repayment of financial aid and other
debts payable to the institution. Also, the Internal Revenue Service
requires the University to file information returns that include the
student's social security number and other information such as the amount
paid for qualified tuition, related expenses, and interest on educational
loans. That information is used to help determine whether a student, or a
person claiming the student as a dependent, may take credit or a deduction
to reduce federal income taxes. The student's social security number is used
and required as the individual identifier in all student records which may
include: (1) application and admission records, (2) registration records,
(3) enrollment/transcript records, (4) financial aid records, (5) alumni
records, and (6) records maintained by other University operated programs. Such personally identifiable records are not

or distribution is authorized by the student or unless otherwise lawfully
available.
