How it Works

When you contact the SEE office you will be asked to fill out an enrollment form requesting information on your major, career interests, and academic background. Also you must attend an orientation to learn more about the program's expectations of you.

What Does it Cost?

Although it won't cost you money to join the SEE program it will cost you time, energy, and commitment. The SEE program is a community of learners united in a common goal. Students are expected to share their knowledge with other students, provide personal and moral support to each other, participate in academic and extracurricular activities and expand their understanding and appreciation for the cultural heritage of our diverse community.

Students eligible to participate in this project must be:
  • Enrolled in Enrolled in American River, Cosumnes River or Sacramento City College
  • Be a member of one of the following groups:
  • African American, Native American, Pacific Islander, or Chicano/Latino
  • Must be a U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Be in good academic standing
  • Considering a major in either biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, or psychology
  • Be interested in a career in the natural, physical or sciences or mathematics
  • Be considering research in the biomedical fields
