I want to first show my appreciation for the existence of this center. In researching who these two very pivotal people were to us I remain inspired by what they have done for Sacramento State, and the city of Sacramento as a whole; I am very excited to be a part of a center that offers students the opportunity to add to such a great legacy. I am a recent transfer to Sacramento State and am studying Sociology. I am originally from E. Orosi which is located in the Central Valley. I come from a family of field laborers and my aspirations in education are to attain a Ph.D or Ed.D/Ph.d. in Sociology in the hopes of becoming a professor, researcher and director of an outreach program whose focus is on helping those that come from a disadvantaged socio-economic background either reach a higher level of education or simply offer options and guidance that will help them in their decisions in becoming the best person they can be. If in any way we can collaborate on ideas to making this a more inclusive center, campus, or community feel free to contact us and let’s begin the conversation that will lead to action.
