Here are some typical highlights!

Hello Social Science Majors!
Here is a brief list of news and current events on campus ~

FALL 2008 MY SAC STATE: If you are new for fall semester and have yet to meet Dr. Fong and Debbie in the Advising Center for Teaching Majors (Lassen Hall 2008), come by and say hi! Make an appointment to see Dr. Fong to make sure you are taking the right classes for the Social Science Program and that you are preparing to enter the Teacher Preparation and Credentialing Program for your single subject credential. If you are not interested in a teaching career, no problem. Come talk about all of the other possible careers you can plan on entering with a degree in the social sciences.

For those who are planning to graduate fall semester 2009, now is the time to fill out your graduation application. Please bring it in to the office (Lassen Hall 2008) filled out, signed and leave it for Dr. Fong's approval and signature. Then come back a couple of days later to pick it up, pay for it ($43) and turn it in to Admissions & Records. Also consider applying for a minor in History since you've earned it within the major requirements. You'll need to fill that out, sign and bring the minor application over to the History Department (Tahoe Hall 3080) for their approval and signature. Also, register and take SSCI 193, the capstone course for the Social Science Program, in spring 2009 semester. SSCI 193 will be offered during the spring semester only (for teaching credential candidates only).

If you are applying for the teaching credential program for the spring 2009, you should have attended one of their information sessions and be ready to turn in your application by Tuesday, October 7.
