Faculty Awards

The University periodically recognizes faculty from within each College for outstanding achievements. Additionally, faculty within SSIS have been honored with a wide variety of awards. Here are some recent winners:

  • Associate Professor Kristin Van Gaasbeck, Department of Economics, is the 15-16 winner of the Faculty Senate Outstanding Teaching Award for SSIS.
  • Professor Greg Kim-Ju, Department of Psychology and Director of Asian Studies, is the 15-16 winner of the Faculty Senate Outstanding University Services Award for SSIS.
  • Associate Professor James Rae, Department of Government, is the 15-16 winner of the Faculty Senate Outstanding Scholarly and Creative Activity Award for SSIS.
  • Associate Professor Sujatha Moni, Department of Women's Studies, is the 15-16 winner of the Faculty Senate Outstanding Community Service Award for SSIS.
  • Associate Professor Aya Ida, Department of Sociology, is the 14-15 winner of the Faculty Senate Outstanding Teaching Award for SSIS.
  • Professor Edward (Ted) Lascher, Department of Public Policy and Administration, is the 14-15 winner of the Faculty Senate Outstanding Scholarly and Creative Activities Award for SSIS.
  • Professor Manual Barajas, Department of Sociology, is the 14-15 winner of the Faculty Senate Outstanding Community Service Award for SSIS..
  • Associate Professor Phillip Akutsu, Department of Psychology, is the 14-15 winner of the Faculty Senate Outstanding University Service Award for SSIS.
