Access to Social Science Data Archives

SSIS faculty members may access various electronic data archives for their teaching and own research.  The University currently maintains a subscription that allows the campus community to obtain data and reports from the Inter-University Consortium on Political and Social Research (ICPSR), the Roper Center, and the Field Institute.  The College also has a close relationship with the Social Science Research and Instructional Council (SSRIC), a faculty disciplinary council with representatives from the entire California State University system; that organization in turn helps people access and use available data.  Professor Ellen Berg (Sociology) is the current Sacramento State representative to the SSRIC.  By visiting the SSRIC web site, Faculty members can get more details about what is available in the data archives and how the information can be used in classroom exercises, etc.
