Expanding Your Horizons (EYH)

A national program designed to encourage young girls to pursue education and careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Each fall Sacramento State hosts a regional EYH conference for hundreds of 6th - 8th grade girls who enjoy a day of fun and entertaining hands-on STEM related activities. The MESA day competitions push area 6th- 12th grade students to use their critical thinking skills to devise original solutions to math, engineering and science challenges allowing them to compare ideas with other college-bound students. Throughout the fall and winter seasons, students work on their projects and prepare for MESA Day with guidance from teachers. www.csus.edu/mesa/mesaday09
