PASS Advising Coordinator
Kari graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with her B.S. in Health Ecology and a minor in Psychology. She continued on at UNR, earning her M.A. in Educational Leadership. As an undergraduate she worked as a Resident Assistant, which cultivated her interest in helping college students to succeed. Kari strives to empower students in pursuit of their academic and personal goals through providing guidance, support, and connections to the University. In her free time Kari enjoys spending time with her husband, playing with her dog, hiking, camping, reading, and relaxing. Kari also enjoys traveling; she has backpacked through Europe, spent time volunteering at a hospice in Kenya, Africa, and educating children in Mexico.
Lead PASS Advisor
Laureen graduated in May with her Bachelors in Biological Sciences and her minor in Ethnic Studies. This Fall she will begin the teaching credential program here at Sacramento State in the single subject program; she wants to teach high school biology and chemistry in the future. Laureen has also worked as a PAL Facilitator, an Orientation Leader, and has extensive experience in academic advising. She is excited to work with the students in PASS Advising to help them achieve academic success during their time here at Sacramento State.
Geronimo is a Senior at Sacramento State working on a Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He is expected to graduate in Spring of 2015. Geronimo hopes to assist as many students as possible through the PASS Advising position here at Sac State. Geronimo is happy to provide resources, vital information, and advice on how to become a successful student. In Geronimo’s spare time he enjoys playing soccer as well as participating in the organizations that he is a part of on campus.
Peter is a Physics major expecting to graduate Fall of 2016. Peter hopes to help other students accomplish their goals by connecting them with the many amazing resources on campus and by helping students create a personalized plan for academic success. In his free time he likes to read Sci-Fi novels, bike along the amazing bike trails on the American river, and tinker with remote control vehicles. His favorite places to study are the library and the AIRC.
Tiffany is a Senior majoring in Kinesiology with a minor in Mathematics. She is planning on applying to two types of doctorate programs: Physical Therapy and Orthopedic Surgery. She is undecided on which she will attend post-graduation. As a PASS Advisor, Tiffany hopes that she can assist each student to have a positive view of their college experience and lessen the stressors in their daily life. She is excited to get to know the students she will be working with this year. Tiffany loves taking yoga classes at the WELL, running with her dog, and hopes to travel to Greece and India one day.
Kevin is a Senior majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in Biological Sciences. He plans on graduating in Spring of 2015, and intends on attending pharmacy school to pursue a career in clinical pharmacy as a pharmacist. As a PASS Advisor, he hopes that many students can achieve their goals with academic success by directing them to the various resources located across campus. Kevin is the Student Board Advisor for the Future Pharmacist Student Organization and actively works on updating its members on current events in the field of pharmacy and the application process for pharmacy schools.
Khoua is a Junior majoring in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Chemistry. She anticipates on graduating in Spring of 2016 and wants to pursue a career in the medical field. Being a PASS Advisor, Khoua is committed to helping students find resources in order to succeed in their academic career. She is a former officer in the Hmong Health Alliance club and is the chairperson for the 3rd Annual Community Health and Wellness Fair. Besides school activities, Khoua likes to volunteer at the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services assisting in the distribution of food and goods to families. She enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, exploring new places, and cooking.
