Kari PASS Advisor Kari Isch
PASS Advising Coordinator

Kari graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with her B.S. in Health Ecology and a minor in Psychology. She continued on at UNR, earning her M.A. in Educational Leadership. As an undergraduate she worked as a Resident Assistant, which cultivated her interest in helping college students to succeed. Kari strives to empower students in pursuit of their academic and personal goals through providing guidance, support, and connections to the University. In her free time Kari enjoys spending time with her husband, playing with her dog, hiking, camping, reading, and relaxing. Kari also enjoys traveling; she has backpacked through Europe, spent time volunteering at a hospice in Kenya, Africa, and educating children in Mexico.
Laureen PASS Advisor Laureen Riddick
PASS Student Advisor

Laureen is a senior majoring in Biological Sciences with a minor in Ethnic Studies. She plans on graduating spring 2014 with a goal of attending medical school where she is interested in becoming a pediatrician. She is currently actively involved in the Science Educational and Equity program, as a Chemistry 1B adjunct student facilitator, as well as the Cooper-Woodson College Enhancement Program. During the summer she recently completed her second summer working as an Orientation Leader. When she is not at school she enjoys volunteering at Sutter Memorial Hospital in the maternal new-born department. She is excited to work with the students in PASS Advising to help them achieve academic success during their time here at Sacramento State.
Rand PASS Advisor Rand Doerning
PASS Student Advisor

Rand is a Senior here at Sac State majoring in forensic biology and expected to graduate in Spring 2014. A veteran of the Marine Corps, Rand has also worked as a Peer Mentor on campus and has extensive experience in academic advising. Working as a PASS Advisor, Rand is dedicated to assisting students succeed by creating an academic success plan and connecting them to the resources on campus. Rand enjoys rock climbing at the WELL and around Lake Tahoe, as well as performing stand-up comedy in the Sacramento area.
John PASS Advisor Kevin Hernandez
PASS Student Advisor

Kevin is a junior majoring in Chemistry and is expected to graduate Fall 2014. After graduating, he plans on attending a chemistry graduate program to obtain his Ph.D. and begin his career in research. He is actively involved on campus in the Science Educational Equity program (SEE) as a tutor for a local college preparatory school. During the past summer, Kevin was selected to be a part of the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Program (LSAMP) Thailand Research group, where he worked at Chiang Mai University in the Analytical Chemistry graduate laboratory. As a PASS Advisor, Kevin is excited to help students better utilize their resources on campus in order to create an effective academic success plan.
Ify PASS Advisor Ian Sturgill
PASS Student Advisor

Ian is a senior who is majoring in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Microbiology. He plans on graduating from Sac State in Spring 2014, after which he wants to attend medical school and pursue a career in primary care medicine. Ian has a passion for and commitment to serving the community and he is excited about being able to be a guide and mentor for fellow students. By meeting with students and connecting them with the many available resources on campus, he hopes that they will achieve success at Sac State and feel empowered in their pursuit of their career and life goals.
Sarah PASS Advisor Sarah Green
PASS Student Advisor

Sarah is a General Biology (BA) major on track to graduate fall of 2014. After earning her BA she plans to attend graduate school to become a physician assistant. Sarah currently volunteers at Sutter General Hospital in the emergency department and this past summer traveled to Quito, Ecuador to volunteer with street children. On her free time Sarah love to run, hike, bike, kayak, and spend time in the mountains. Her favorite places to study on campus are the AIRC (open 24 hours), the Math Lab in Brighton 118, the library, and off campus at any coffee shop. Sarah's goal is to help you to be a successful student by connecting you with resources on campus and working with you to create a plan for academic success.
Sarah PASS Advisor Raquel Flory
PASS Student Advisor

Raquel is a senior majoring in Biology with a concentration in biomedical science.  She will be graduating spring 2014.  After graduation she hopes to become a Physician Assistant.  She wants to help students find their path for success as well as provide them with the best resources to achieve their goals.  Raquel is an active volunteer for Youth Explosion, which is a nonprofit organization that performs outreach to under served communities.  She is also the co-vice president for the new Pre-Physician Assistants club on campus.  For leisure she enjoys, spending time with family and friends, as well as exploring new places and experiencing different cultures.
