J’Lissabeth Faughn joined Sacramento State in Summer 2013 as Director of the Multi-Cultural Center, PRIDE & Women’s Resource Centers. J’Lissabeth has experience working in a variety of higher education capacities including residence life, student retention, admissions, and social justice education.
J’Lissabeth received her master’s degree in Education Leadership and Policy Studies with an emphasis in Social Justice. She has worked in a variety of organizations including serving on the executive regional board of American College and University Housing Officers International (ACUHO-I), Standing Committee for Multicultural Affairs, American College Personnel Association (ACPA), and the Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Professionals. She is also one of the founding faculty members of the Campus Pride Leadership Camp.
J’Lissabeth has taught a variety of courses during her career including Intro to LGBT Studies, Dialogues on Diversity, Intro to Social Justice Education, Gender & Justice in Society, and Transgender Communities. She has served as a trainer, speaker and consultant for a variety of student and professional conferences, colleges and universities, law enforcement agencies, medical schools, and public corporations.
