Melissa Repa began working at Sacramento State in August 2003. As Co-Director of Services to Students with Disabilities (SSWD) and Project Director of TRIO (Federal grant-funded) Student Support Services, Melissa is responsible for developing and managing support services and technologies toward ensuring students with disabilities have the access to educational resources necessary to pursue their educational goals. She also oversees the High Tech Center and accessible technology services, through which students with physical, visual or learning disabilities may use specialized assistive hardware or software to access electronic educational resources.
Previously at Sac State, Melissa served as High Tech Center Coordinator and Instructor and taught Learning Skills courses for students with disabilities. Melissa also has experience teaching science and English and managing academic technology programs, and has worked in both the United States and Thailand. Melissa has presented on a variety of topics, including universal design for learning and computer access for persons with disabilities.
Melissa graduated with distinction with an Ed.D. degree from the Educational Leadership doctoral program (postsecondary emphasis) at Sacramento State. She also earned an MA in Psychological Studies in Education from the University of California, Los Angeles, a BS and Teaching Certificate in General Science from the University of Michigan, and a certificate in Assistive Technology Applications from California State University, Northridge.
