Tobacco Free

Sacramento State is launching a “Breathe Easy” campaign for the 2017-2018 academic year!

The CSU Chancellor issued an executive order to all 23 campuses to become smoke and tobacco free effective September 1, 2017. This includes traditional cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, hookah, snuff, vapes, and chewing tobacco. Sac State wants to encourage all members of the campus community, including students, faculty, staff, and visitors, to breathe easy and become part of our healthy hive. The smoke and tobacco free policy includes all of Sac State’s indoor and outdoor areas and creates a healthier environment for our campus.

The first step Sac State is taking to implement this policy is educating the community about the new executive order and providing on-campus resources and assistance to those who are interested.

If needed, consider reaching out to the California Smokers' Helpline (1-800-NO-BUTTS), a proven service to double a smoker's chance of successfully quitting. The Helpline offers telephone counseling in six different languages. Above you will find links to helpful on-campus and off campus resources that will guide you to the assistance that you may need.
