About Us
Sacramento State’s Student Advancement Council was established in 2010 to develop the University’s first student-run philanthropic society, prepare student ambassadors to interface with prominent alumni and to plan and execute a year-long senior gift campaign.
Student leaders work closely with University Advancement to develop and manage peer-to-peer and student-alumni programs that promote the University, highlight the importance of philanthropy, and foster and enhance student involvement with alumni. Programs include:
- The Hornet Pride Challenge, which helps to raise funds by asking students to make a donation in the name of their class to support Sacramento State. Participation is the main goal, gifts of any amount are encouraged and appreciated.
- The Discover Hornet Pride campaign, which raises awareness of the University by connecting students with alumni through face-to-face “discovery” interviews.
