The Hornet Pride Challenge is organized by the Student Advancement Council to give their fellow students a close-up look at the fundraising programs at Sac State. Their goal is to foster a lasting awareness and appreciation of philanthropy through donor interaction, peer-to-peer engagement and alumni outreach.
During the 2013 fall semester, the Student Advancement Council organized the first Sac State Thank-a-thon. We set our goals and took to the Library Quad. Students starting dropping by and we were astonished as we met our two-day goal on day one. Participants were surrounded by examples of the impact that philanthropy has at Sac State from buildings to scholarships to programs. In the end, we surpassed our goal three times over with more than 900 thank you notes and over 300 students that came out to write the notes. What a great showing of Hornet Pride!
Thanks to all of our student and alumni volunteers, Thank-a-thon was a huge success! Thank-a-thon was held in honor of our donors who make Sac State great. The next Thank-a-thon is scheduled for April 2014 and we encourage all students to participate and show your thanks. We also welcome both alumni and students to help staff the booth. Please let us know if you are interested. Go Hornets!
