Information Security Policy
Sacramento State is committed to protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets owned, leased, or entrusted to the University. Therefore, CSUS hereby adopts the most current version of the California State University System-Wide Information Security Policies and Standards as its own information security policies.
Scope
Information security policies are required to ensure:
- Confidentiality of personally identifiable information.
- Security and integrity of all data stored on or processed by CSUS information systems.
- Availability of information stored on or processed by CSUS information systems.
- The integrity and security of all servers, computers, software applications, and network devices used by CSUS and its affiliated organizations.
- Compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and CSU/campus policies governing information security and privacy protection.
This policy shall apply to the following:
- All campus entities, including auxiliary units
- External businesses and organizations that provide information, goods or services to CSUS
- All students, faculty, and staff of CSUS having access to information, computer, and network assets
- Consultants, vendors or any other person having access to CSUS systems and information assets
- All categories of information, regardless of the medium in which the information asset is held (e.g. paper, electronic, oral, etc)
