ASSOCIATED STUDENTS CHILDREN'S CENTER ADVISORY COUNCIL

Policy Statement

The Associated Students Children’s Center Advisory Council exists to: advise on Children’s Center program operation, including but not limited to, pedagogical and educational philosophy, parent fee structure, and operating policies and procedures; advise on long range planning including expansion of services and changes in services and staff; participate as requested or required in any evaluation performed by an outside entity, particularly the California Department of Education, Child Development Division.

Procedure

  • Council Structure:

Voting Members:

Three (3) Student Parents to be elected by majority vote of Children’s Center parents.

        • Term:           
          1 position – 1 academic year

1 position – 1 ½ academic year

1 position – 2 ½ academic years

Faculty/Staff Parent to be elected by majority vote of Children’s Center Parents.

        • Term:           1 academic year

    Member of Associated Students Board of Directorsappointed by ASI President.

        • Term:           Maximum 2 semesters concurrent with term of appointing ASI President.

    Children’s Center Staff Member (excluding Director) elected by majority vote of full-time, regular staff.

        • Term:           1 academic year

    Vice President for Student Affairs or designee.

        • Term:           2 academic years; renewable subject to recommendation of Vice President Ex-Officio Staff – ASI Children’s Center Director and ASI Executive Director

    A minimum of two (2) voting members shall not have children currently enrolled in the Children’s Center.
