California Career Zone
California Career Zone is a new way to explore exciting jobs and occupations that California has to offer and to learn about what career path interests you. Students can choose among three self-assessment exercises, view occupations by industry sectors and assessment results, view occupations of interest, and playing a Reality Check game comparing salary information with lifestyle.
The O*NET program is the nation’s primary source of occupational information. The database also provides the basis for our Career Exploration Tools, a set of valuable assessment instruments for workers and students looking to find or change careers.
Occupational Outlook Handbook
Run by the Department of Labor, The Occupational Outlook Handbook is a nationally recognized source of career information, designed to provide valuable assistance to individuals making decisions about their future work lives. The Handbook is revised every two years.
Veterans Today Network
A conglomerate of 62 websites providing information, services, and news that contributes to the greater good of the Veterans community. Featured sites include Veterans News Now and HireVeterans.com.
A blog focused towards college students that provides contemporary career advice with articles relating to workplace knowledge, networking skills, job search techniques, resume support, job interviewing, cover letter writing, researching jobs industries, etc. The blog is offered on the website YouTurn.com, which connects students to internship opportunities.
Military 2 Career
Military 2 Career is a site designed to provide the military community with a trusted professional network, which pairs members with employers who are serious about building a diverse workforce to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse customer base. Members can explore career opportunities and apply for current openings. In addition, the database offers members the option to upload career and education background though LinkedIn. Members have the ability to join groups enabling interaction between companies and applicants. Articles and blogs are posted relating to common challenges of veterans seeking civilian career opportunities.

The Veterans and Military Occupations Finder (VMOF)
Lists active Military Occupations Codes (MOCs) from each of the five branches (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, and Navy) along with corresponding civilian occupations and two-letter Holland Occupational Codes (HOCs). Using these two classifications, users can locate HOCs for military occupations and their corresponding civilian occupations. This allows users to better understand how they might apply the skills and abilities they developed while in the military to potential civilian occupations with similar requirements.

A personal finance website for military members, veterans, and their families. The website’s goal is to help the military community better manage money and understand the variety of programs and benefits available to them.

With more than 300 million members worldwide, including executives from every Fortune 500 company, LinkedIn is the world's largest professional network on the Internet. Members can share career-related news, connect with companies, share presentations, and receive recommendations.
Walks military spouses through developing a resume based on their unique skills and makes their resumes searchable to thousands of employers. In addition, Career Spark explores options pertaining to interview preparation, skill discovery, and tracking progress for overcoming obstacles related to experience as a military spouse.
Sacramento Public Library - Veteran's Resource Station
The station provides assistance through trained volunteers who can connect veterans and their families to benefits and resources. The station also provides access to books, DVDs and pamphlets on various topics including transitioning from military to civilian life, finding jobs, surviving change, veterans benefits and managing post-traumatic stress disorders.
