Tutorials - Web Page Counters

Using the method below, Sacramento State counter data files are reserved for use by University Colleges, Departments, and Programs with pages on a Sacramento State Web server (www.csus.edu).

Note: This counter setup page requires JavaScript to be enabled in your browser.

Step 1

From the groups below select your style, border, interior colors and number of digits for your counter.

Style

Style A
Style B
Style C
Style D
Style E

Border



Interior


(Foreground only works with styles A, D & E; Background works with all styles but B)


(Transparency does not work with styles B or C; transparency overrides background color)


(Negating colors overrides color changes and transparency)

Number



(Commas negate any digit or padding changes)

Step 2

  , then press the tab key. This file name is used to store the number of visitors accessing your Web page.
 

Step 3

Copy the HTML statement in the box below and paste it into the <body> section of your HTML document where you want to place the hit counter.


 

Step 4

Send an e-mail to web@csus.edu specifying the complete URL of the page on which you wish to place your counter. This is required in order for the counter program to keep track of the number of visitors on your page.
