March is designated as Women’s Herstory Month and is a time to celebrate and reflect upon the fact that "…women of every race, class, and ethnic background have made historic contributions to the growth and strength of our Nation in countless recorded and unrecorded ways…" (1987 Congressional Proclamation).
Sac State’s Women's HerStory Month: The Power of Expression features speakers, musical performers, a gallery show and a celebration of influential women, both on-campus and off, who have made a difference to the Sac State and Sacramento community. Be sure to visit the Student Health Center’s Clothesline Project from March 15–31; a project to raise awareness of and to prevent violence against women.

Stop the Pain — Photographic Reflections on Breast Cancer by A.J. Pero
Monday—Friday, 10:30am—3:30pm, University Union Gallery, 2nd Floor
This gallery show represents the power of photography as a tool for healing the wounds and raising awareness of Breast Cancer. Join us for a reception on Wed. March 10, from 6–8pm. The University Union Gallery event is presented in partnership with the University Union, the WELL, and Collaborative Services.

Have an experience to share? Attend this open mic mixer to hear and share struggles, triumphs, and every day experiences of women of color at Sac State and beyond. This event is presented in partnership with the Multi-Cultural Center.

Women’s Rights and Politics in America

Drs. Rebecca Kluchin and Erika Gasser will be presenting a thematic approach that will examine women and the Constitution in early America as well as women and reproductive rights in the 20th century drawing upon similar legal social constructs.
