Sexual and Reproductive Health
ACCESS: Women's Health Justice
ACCESS combines direct services, community education, and policy advocacy to promote real reproductive options and access to quality health care for California women. Programs include Healthline, Reproductive Justice Advocacy and Policy Advocacy. Healthline provides free, confidential and nonjudgmental information, referrals, peer counseling and advocacy on the full range of reproductive health services including abortion, birth control, pregnancy, prenatal care, pap smears and gyn care, infertility, and STD testing and treatment. We connect women with public insurance programs that pay for this care, such as FamilyPACT, Medi-Cal or AIM. We also refer to organizations that can help with other issues such as domestic violence, sexual assault, drug addiction, homelessness, child-care or job discrimination. We offer a dedicated full-time Spanish hotline, and additional languages are available by interpreter.

Choice Medical Group
Choice Medical Group provides abortion clinics. They offer several options for abortions in addition to emergency contraception, and futher information on each option so women can make the decision best for them.
-Surgical Abortion: You can have a surgical abortion between the 4th and 24th week of your pregnancy. After an initial consultation, you will return for one of the three outpatient surgical procedures depending on the length of your pregnancy and your health history.
-Medication Abortion: You can have a medication abortion up to the 9th week of pregnancy. Like a surgical abortion, this option requires an initial consultation and review of your health history. Different from surgical abortion, this option allows you to take medications and complete the abortion at home.
-Emergency Contraception: Emergency contraception, or the “morning after pill” is NOT a method of abortion. Rather, this is a back-up birth control method. Choice Medical Group offers emergency contraception in clinic as well as prescriptions for emergency contraception as a back-up birth control method to our patients after their procedures.
-Depo-Provera (Birth Control Shot): Immediately following your surgical procedure, or at your 1-week medication abortion follow up appointment, you may opt to receive Depo-Provera which is a birth control shot. This one-time injection of birth control is effective for 12 weeks. This method of birth control may cause irregular bleeding and does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases or infections. Ask a Choice Medical Group staff member for more information if you’re interested in this method.
