Visitor Information

Visitor HelpSacramento State hosts a variety of events and visitors are always welcome. Parking regulations and enforcement apply to all visitors, faculty, staff and students. Also, visit Sac State's Visiting Campus page for more general visitor information.

Parking permits are required to park on campus at all times, except in designated timed spaces.

Parking permits are available from daily permit machines or the UTAPS Office. Permit machines are located in student Lots 1, 7, 8, 9, 14, 5th floor of Parking Structure 1, 3rd floor of Parking Structure 2, the 1st and 3rd floors of Parking Structure 3 and 3rd and 4th floors of Parking Structure 5. Parking permit fees are $7 per day, or $4 for two hours. The interactive campus map also shows the locations of each permit machine.

Alternvatively, you may use PayByPhone to purchase a daily or two hour parking permit.

Information Booths

The information booths will answer questions about navigating campus, building locations, parking regulations, and other general information.

Information Booth 1 is located near the northern entrance of campus on State University Drive; it is open Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm.

Information Booth 2 is located near the southern end of campus, on College Town Drive; it is open Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.

Union Information Desk

The Union Information Desk is conveniently located on the first floor of The University Union and open seven days a week when Sacramento State is in session. Their knowledgeable staff do their best to assist students, faculty, staff, visitors, and the community with any questions in person, via phone and online.

No. California Vehicle Code 21113.a provides Sacramento State the authorization to establish rules and regulations.  Furthermore, the California Code of Regulations, Title 5, (42200.c) requires that vehicles displaying an ADA placard or license plate also display a valid Sacramento State parking permit.  This entitles the vehicle to be parked in any student, faculty/staff or timed parking space for an indefinite period of time.

Yes. Overnight parking for residence hall visitors requires the following:

  • An overnight parking permission.
  • A daily scratcher permit for each day the vehicle is parked on campus.
  • The vehicle must be parked in Lot 7, near the Public Safety building. The parking permission and daily scratcher permits must be displayed on the vehicle's dashboard.

The residence hall student must visit the UTAPS during office hours (Monday through Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm) to receive an overnight parking permission (no charge) and purchase daily 'scratcher' permits ($7 each). Just let the cashier know which dates your visitor will be parked overnight and they will issue the permission and sell the daily permits.
