Staff town hall meeting
The campus community is invited to attend a staff town hall meeting hosted by President Alexander Gonzalez at noon, Thursday, Aug. 6, in the University Union’s Hinde Auditorium. Gonzalez and members of his cabinet and the University Budget Committee will discuss employee furloughs and the campus budget. Release time for the event will be determined by departments based on their needs.

Golden Hornet Award
Gary L. Quattrin, class of 1965, will be presented the Golden Hornet Award from the Sacramento State Alumni Association Football and Friends Chapter, 6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 22, in the Alumni Center. Quattrin has been a long time supporter of the University and its football program.

Campus paving
Central Valley Asphalt will excavate and patch eight locations on campus Monday, July 27 to Thursday, Aug. 6. Areas will be clearly marked by signage, fencing, traffic cones and barricades. Members of the campus community who have funds in their OneCard Hornet Bucks Account are eligible to receive discounts during August and September from the Pita Pit and Zambezi Frozen Yogurt & Wild Salads.

Members who pay with their OneCard can get any Pita Pit pita for $3.99, and Zambezi Frozen Yogurt & Wild Salads is offering a 16 oz. yogurt with hot and dry toppings on the bottom two rows for $5. There will also be a raffle for two $25 Zambezi Gift Certificates and one $75 Sacramento State Hornet Bookstore certificate for people who pay using their OneCard.

A trip to The Well
Tours of The WELL recreation and fitness center construction site will be held 3-4 p.m., Fridays for faculty, staff and students.

Human Resources

The Human Resources Benefits Office has scheduled a series of informational workshops on pre-retirement planning. In addition, Department of Personnel Administration (401k and 457 plans) and CSU Tax-Sheltered Annuity (430b plans) approved vendors will provide information on managing finances and investment contributions. Representatives will be available for scheduled one-on-one client meetings.  

The HR Benefits Office is available for scheduled one-on-one employee meetings about this information, but individuals are asked to consider attending these workshops before scheduling appointments.

Catastrophic leave donation program
Sacramento State employees may voluntarily donate to other employees up to a maximum of 40 hours of sick or vacation leave credits in one-hour increments each fiscal year. Bargaining Units 1, 8, 10 and 11 may only donate up to 16 hours per fiscal year. If employees are interested in donating time, a donation form can be obtained at, or visit the Human Resources Disability Leaves office in Sacramento Hall 162 or call 278-3522.
