Campus Announcements

Construction update

Facilities Services will be repaving a section of State University Drive this week. State University Drive South and West will be closed from Sinclair Road (near Parking Structure I) to State University Drive East (near Napa Hall) starting Monday, Aug. 6. Work is expected to last one week. Detours will be available.

Work on the plaza between the new Hornet Bookstore and the Student Union will continue this week. Pedestrians will be routed around construction areas.

Site work will occur on the west side and in back of the Public Safety building.  Traffic may be disrupted at times.

Roofing work will continue at Shasta Hall this week. The building shall remain open during construction.

New bookstore open for business
University Enterprises and Follett Higher Education Group proudly announce the opening of the new Hornet Bookstore on the Sacramento State campus. Reflecting the needs of students and faculty at a premier, regional University, the two-story, 50,000 square-foot bookstore features textbooks, general interest books, and merchandise of interest to the University community. Visitors to Sacramento State will now find a complete selection of campus sportswear and memorabilia that reflects the vibrant culture of Sacramento State.

The new Hornet Bookstore is located east of the University Union adjacent to Parking Structure II. Hours during the summer are 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information visit or call 278-6446.

Catastrophic Leave Donation Program
Sacramento State employees may voluntarily donate to other employees up to a maximum of 16 hours of sick or vacation leave credits each fiscal year in one-hour increments. CSUEU, MPP, Unit 4, Unit 6 and Confidential employees may donate up to a maximum of 40 hours per fiscal year.

If employees are interested in donating time, a donation form can be obtained by going to, or by visiting the Human Resources, Disability Leaves Office in Sacramento Hall 162, or by calling extension 278-3522.
