The Career Center hosts programs, career fairs and other events throughout the year to connect Sacramento State students and alumni with employers and career development opportunities. Mark your calendar today for these upcoming events! Events are open to all Sacramento State students and alumni.

Helpful Tips to Prepare for an Event:

  1. Research companies that are attending the event by visiting their website
  2. Prepare your resume and bring copies to the event
  3. Prepare a short background statement on your education and experience
  4. Develop questions to ask an employer at the event
  5. Dress professionally or business casual when meeting with employers

Kaiser Permanente, working in collaboration with the Sacramento State Career Center, offer over 30 Sacramento State students the opportunity to support and assist the Emergency Department patients, families, and staff from the time a patient arrives in the Emergency Department until they are discharged. Students are exposed to many different components of healthcare while developing a variety of skills.

Bizwomen Mentoring Monday, a collaboration with the Sacramento Business Journal, provides the opportunity for attendees to choose from nearly 50 mentors who are some of the most influential and accomplished women in the community. One-on-one “speed mentoring” sessions will give you the chance to meet with female leaders who are ready to answer questions, provide guidance, and offer career related advice.

A Taste of Etiquette

The Sacramento State Career Center and Alumni Association are excited to announce, A Taste of Etiquette.  Students will gain the knowledge and confidence to excel in any social setting through this interactive dining experience. We are partnering with Odyssey Teams, who have worked with organizations like Microsoft, KPMG, BMW, Northwestern Airlines and countless influencers worldwide, to provide an evening rich in etiquette content and dining tips accompanied with a three-course meal. Check out our short video!

April is National Internship Awareness Month. Internships are a great experiential learning opportunity and way for students to get ready to start their career. The Career Center is hosting a Fun in the Sun Internship & Summer Job Fair for students to network with employers who are looking to fill internship and summer opportunities. Students can learn about internship programs, summer opportunities on and off campus, and get free professional clothing for those in need.
