Background Information
Anita Benitas is a consultant with the CTA Department for Instruction and Professional Development. Anita is an educator and life long learner who has been working in an educational environment for the past 16 years. She has served 7 years as a secondary classroom teacher and 6 years building strong respectful working relationships among teachers, parents, administrators and the community as a Resource Teacher, Coordinator of Testing and Evaluation, California English Language Development (CELDT) Trainer, Assisting Principal, Assisting Director of Multicultural Education and as the Region II Community Organizer for the CTA-Institute for Teaching. Anita is a change agent who inspires a supportive, exciting and encouraging environment for students, parents, teachers, and the community.

As an educational advocate, Anita has been involved with the PTSA, Parent Link, Hispanic Caucus, Latino Youth Conference, South East Asian Faire, Multicultural Day, Family Resource Day, Parent Institute, Fine Arts Caucus, CTA Summer Institute, CTA Institute for Teaching High School Out Reach Symposium and NEA. She has also served as a SCTA Site Representative, School Site Council Representative, Bilingual Advisory Committee Representative, Executive Board Member, Urban Collective Board Member, State Contact Volunteer, California Delegation Caucus Election Subcommittee Volunteer, and as a California State Delegate to the National Educational Association Representative Assembly.

Anita received her B.S. in International Marketing from the University of California Davis and her M.A. in Educational Leadership from California State University Sacramento.
