Cost Overview

Because ATS receives no federal, state, or University funding, the program is supported primarily by student fees. In general, there are three sets of fees involved with the program.

Testing

At Schools

The cost to take the test at area schools is $20. This fee covers the cost of test processing and reporting to students. Fee waivers are available for those with economic hardship.

At Sacramento State

The cost to take the test at one of the Saturday exams at Sac State is $20. This fee covers the cost of test processing and reporting to students. Fee waivers are available for those with economic hardship.

At the ATS Office

The cost to take the test in the ATS office is $40. This fee covers the cost of same-day test processing and reporting to students.

Application

The application fee is a nontransferable processing fee and does not count toward course fees. The specific fee due is dependent on the date the application is submitted.

Applications received by the Priority Placement deadline: $25

Applications received after the Priority Placement deadline: $35
