Areas Research/Scholarly Activity

My research focus is on Latinas who are the first in their families to graduate college and exploring how and why they succeed. Additional work centers on the intersectionality of gender, race, and class issues on Latinas' educational attainment. A future project will explore gender and race representation in high school history textbooks.
