  • Dr. Nevarez was Awarded the 2015-2016 College of Education Outstanding Faculty for Scholarly and Creative Activity at Sacramento State.

Select Publications

I am the co-author of three books: Ethical Leadership and the Community College: Paradigms, Decision-Making, and Praxis (2014); Leadership Theory in the Community College: Applying Theory to Practice (2013); and Community College Leadership and Administration: Theory, Practice and Change (2010). Each book places emphasis on deconstructing and constructing new approaches to how higher education leadership is viewed, practiced, and envisioned. These books have gained national recognition for facilitating the professional development of higher education leaders. Dr. Nevarez is currently working on a fourth book with a focus on institutional change.
