- The Chemistry Department Congratulates Ashley Fagundes for winning the Department’s and College of NSM’s Outstanding Student Award

Congratulations Ashley Fagundes!
Ashley Fagundes graduated with a BS in Chemistry in spring 2019 and has maintained a 3.95 GPA. She was the department’s American Chemical Society (ACS) Analytical Chemistry Award Winner for 2017-2018 and has been an ACS Scholar from 2014-2018. Ashley performed research on developing and using LC-MS methodology to measure heterocyclic aromatic amines in particulate matter under Dr. Miller-Schulze.
Besides being an outstanding classroom and research student, Ashley has served in several positions in the Sacramento State Marching Band, as an assistant to a blind student, and as a President’s Ambassador. Ashley will be working to obtain a PhD in Analytical Chemistry at UC Davis in fall 2019. Ashley was one of six female students selected by each department in the College of Natural Science and Mathematics as their outstanding student.
