How can I become a Family & Consumer Science Major?

Students can major in Family & Consumer Sciences with a concentration in any of the following; Fashion Merchandising and Design, Family Studies, Nutrition and Food, or Dietetics emphasis. You can find the required courses to take for each concentration on the Sac State Academic Programs page. 

What programs are part of the FACs Department?

The programs that are part of the FACs Department are FACs Ed (FACS), Fashion Merchandising & Management (FASH), Nutrition, Food & Dietetics (NUFD), and Family Studies & Human Development (FSHD). Students are able to major or minor in NUFD, FASH, or FSHD.  

How do I meet with a FACS Advisor? 

Students who would like to meet with an Academic Advisor should set up an appointment through EAB or directly contact any of the Advisors to set up an appointment time. You can find the Academic Advisors' contact information on the FACs Meet Us page.
