Peer Program Minigrant Program 2019-2020


Applications will be submitted through the Professional Community of Inquiry: Equity Inclusion Power and Privilege.

Please submit an intent to apply for this minigrant program by Friday Feb. 7, 2019, 5 pm. by applying to the PCI: Equity, Inclusion, Power and Privilege.

The Peer Program Minigrant Program is a competitive grant program funded by the Developing Hispanic Serving Institution (DHSI) Project INSPIRE. The goal of the DHSI Project INSPIRE is to increase the number and proportion of Hispanic and high-need students who are successful in college and attain timely degree completion. This minigrant program will support existing, and emerging peer programs in their effort to attain this goal.

Peer Program Grant Program Objectives:

Build sustainable support for peer programs that not only demonstrate student success, but also address inclusion and equity challenges. Fund on campus jobs for students and increase the number of students who will benefit from peer tutoring, mentoring, advising, and coaching programs.

Eligibility and Scope of Funding:

All Sacramento State programs that provide student-to-student programming for Sacramento State Students are eligible to apply. For the academic year 2019/2020 it is anticipated that $100,000 in Peer Program minigrant funds will be awarded, averaging $15,000 for established programs and $5,000 for emerging programs.

How programs apply for funding:

  1. By Feb. 1, 2019 submit your intent to apply to this program by completing an application to be a member of the “Community of Inquiry: Equity, Inclusion, Power and Privilege” - select option 2
  2. Complete the Community Inquiry: Equity, Inclusion, Power and Privilege requirements for option 2
  3. On May 10, 2019 present the poster that will serve as you Peer Program minigrant application.
  4. May 17 grant awards announced.

  • Fund on campus jobs for students and increase the number of students who will benefit from peer tutoring, mentoring, advising, and coaching programs.

  • All Sacramento State programs that provide student-to-student programming for Sacramento State Students are eligible to apply.
  • For the academic year 2018/2019 it is anticipated that $100,000 in Peer Program minigrant funds will be awarded, averaging $20,000 for established programs, $10,000 for programs scaling up and $5,000 for emerging programs.
