  • Must be a first-generation college student (either parent/guardian has associate or higher degree awarded by a U.S. college at the time of application)
  • Historically low-income/and or educationally disadvantage. Must meet income eligibility
  • Incoming freshmen who demonstrate academic potential and motivation

  • Apply to Sacramento State and EOP during priority application filing period: October 1 - November 30 for the Fall semester.
  • Apply online at www.calstate.edu/apply
  • Have an unofficial copy of your high school and college transcripts handy when you complete your application for admission. Your admissions decision will be based on self-reported information entered on the application—Accuracy is critical!
  • The EOP application is now part of the Cal State Admissions Application. Once it is determined that you are eligible for EOP, questions related to EOP will automatically populate.
  • Submit Letters of Recommendation by January 31, 2019
  • Register and take SAT/ACT by the December deadline

Start the process by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) starting October 1st through March 2nd. Be sure to indicate school code 001150 for Sacramento State on your application. Visit StudentAid.gov/fafsa to find out how to fill out the FAFSA and create your FSA ID, what information is needed, what the deadlines, and what happens after the FAFSA.
