Festivals, dance, music, and more: Arts fill the fall at Sac State

Phoenix Rising Sacramento State’s Arts Experience is bigger than ever for Fall 2017.

The performing arts season gets underway this week with Phoenix Rising (pictured at right), a dance concert featuring student work, faculty work, and guest artist work, all in one inventive package. Performances start Wednesday and continue through Sept. 24 in Solano Hall Dancespace.

Coming later in the fall are events including U-Nite!, the University’s wide-ranging evening of creativity at the Crocker Art Museum, on Oct. 26; Sacramento/Black Art of Dance, the hit musical Annie, and the 10-day Festival of New American Music, all debuting in November; and #SLAPPAS Fest: A Hip-Hop Student Showcase in December.

The calendar also includes an impressive list of musical performances throughout the season, and the University’s art spaces will be filled with varied and intriguing exhibits.
