Katherine Cota ready to put Carlsen Center on the map

Katherine Cota The Dale and Katy Carlsen Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is expected to elevate Sacramento State’s role as a driving force for the regional economy and inspire generations to become creative thinkers. A founding executive director is in place to help make it happen.

Katherine Cota, the Carlsen Center’s new director, is charged with outlining student innovation and entrepreneurship programs along with raising an additional $5 million to support the work of the center.

“Ultimately, we hope to be a model for other U.S. cities and beyond,” Cota says. “The Carlsen Center will be a part of creating a community that embraces and celebrates its diversity to drive its economy.”
