Restarting Research on Campus [CURRENT PHASE: 2]

Guidelines for Ramp-Up/Ramp-Down of Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities at California State University, Sacramento

The guidelines outlined on this website refer only to research that must be conducted in university research and office spaces, such as the physical campus, astronomical observatories, field stations, agricultural lands, and nature reserves, field operation at non-university-owned facilities or requiring direct contact with individuals (human subjects). On-campus research includes physical presence in campus labs, libraries, archives, and museums to access any university material that cannot be accessed remotely, as well as performance work (arts) or other studio access that must be done on campus.

All phases of the Research Ramp-Up/Down plan are subject to ongoing review. Mitigation of the ongoing pandemic is taking many different forms across the country and globe. We will monitor the ongoing performance and results of our plan through the campus mandatory reporting process. The campus process and workflow, checklists for ramping-up, laboratory safety and studio startup, required forms that must be approved, and training materials that must reviewed prior to returning to campus, field-based or site-based research can be accessed from this website. A phased-in approach is being implemented that is aligned with the guidelines from the Chancellor’s Office: Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activities Considerations in the Context of COVID-19

Faculty requesting access to campus facilities for research and creative activities must complete a request through InfoReady and OnBase as outlined in the approval workflow below. Note: each InfoReady and OnBase request should be for one faculty member and may include any students they supervise. Requests that list more than one faculty member will be returned and applicants will be instructed to submit separate requests.
