Activities related to clinical service delivery within the past 5 years

I have had the opportunity to supervise CSUS graduate level student clinicians within the Communication Sciences and Disorder Department for the last 3 semesters: Assessment Clinic, Speech 1 Clinic and also acted as the public schools’ liaison for student internships.  In addition, I have had 34 years of experience as an itinerant speech/language pathologist and a teacher within the SDC-Communicatively Handicapped (SDC-CH) programs in the public school setting.   For 21 years, I served as a Master Clinician supervising CSUS graduate level interns in the SDC-CH setting, helping to prepare them for “best practices” as they served children while gaining experience as intern speech/language pathologists.   As a member of the CSUS Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders Advisory Committee, I have gained a tremendous appreciation of the insights gained during our meetings.  These insights have helped the committee and the faculty to understand the variables within settings (private practice, hospital and schools) and the implications for the student preparation during their coursework within the Department.
