Applying to the Department of Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Administration (RPTA) Master's Program

The Master's Program in RPTA accepts students for both Fall and Spring semesters.

To apply for the RPTA Master's Program, complete the following:

  1. Submit an application to Sacramento State's Office of Graduate Studies (OGS) through Cal State Apply:
    • Important Note: This is the step for applying to the university and does not include submitting RPTA-required documents.
      • Make sure to review the Cal State Apply Graduate Application Guide on this page for specific information regarding the application process.
    • After submitting the Cal State Apply application, applicants receive an email from the OGS with information regarding how to submit RPTA supplemental application documents online (paper copies are not accepted).
  2. Submit RPTA Supplemental Application Documents:
    • Applicant's Resume
    • Applicant's Statement of Purpose
    • Three Letters of Recommendation from academic or work experiences (at least one must be from a university faculty, and at least one must be from a work experience)

Note: Applications for the RPTA Master's Program are online submissions ONLY. Please do not send physical copies of documents to the RPTA Department.
