Check Out

All students are required to check out with their RA.

For Summer Session 1, check out day is Friday, July 6 - 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

For Summer Session 2, check out day is Friday, August 17 – 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Late Departure Request

Any resident who needs to depart later due to extenuating circumstances will need to submit a request online beginning Friday, June 29, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. for summer session 1. Your request for Late Departure will be reviewed by our Staff, and if approved or denied, additional information will be emailed to you.

All approved Late Departures are subject to the following:
• An additional rental fee of $35.00 per night charged for the additional nights(s) of stay, and this charge will be assessed to your University account.
• Residents are responsible for abiding by all terms and conditions of the license agreement, as well as the regulations outlined in the residence hall handbook.
• Due to limited coverage, no overnight guest(s) are allowed.

Summer Resident Assistants will be reaching out to you to schedule a check out appointment.
• Arrange furniture in the proper order and return bed to the 5th notch.
• All personal items must be removed from your suite. Check all drawers andclosets. Clean and vacuum thoroughly. Wipe down all surfaces including drawers, shelves and closets.
• Do not leave trash/personal items in the hallway.
• Your room key and access fob must be returned at the time of your check-out appointment. The charge for an unreturned key or access fob is $30 each.
• Update your current address with the University. This can be done online through your My Sac State account. Any mail that is received on your behalf will be forwarded to the current address on file with the University.
• Pay any outstanding Housing debts promptly (i.e. rent/board, damages, etc.) at the Bursar's Office in Lassen Hall.


• Your RA will complete the initial room assessment.
• The RA does not apply charges, nor do they make any decisions about charges. The RA only notes the condition of your room/suite.
• Your Residence Life Coordinator applies room/suite charges after you move out based on the Room/Suite Condition Report.


All damage charges will be posted to your University account and must be paid promptly. Please remember that any past due charges will result in a University hold on your records. This hold will affect the release of your grades and your summer and/or fall registration, etc.
• If necessary, you may email the University Housing Services Office to request a copy of your Room Inventory form showing damage charges.
• Questions or appeals regarding room charges must be made via email only to
• Deadline: Appeals for charges must be emailed by July 19, 2018.
