Steps to Retirement

This web page is designed to help guide you through the steps in the retirement process. Please review the items below prior to scheduling an appointment with the Benefits Office. The more prepared you are for your Retirement Counseling appointment, the more beneficial your time will be spent. Print and fill in the Pre-Retirement Checklist as you complete the following steps to retirement.

The CSU must separate you from employment before CalPERS can process your retirement application.  A delay in submitting an application for retirement can result in a lapse in your healthcare coverage and delay in retirement processing.   Applications for retirement must be submitted to CalPERS and a Notice of Intent to Retire should be completed and given to the Benefits Office.
