Especially today we must face the grave danger,
the last question asked of art: are we able to rescue
the spiritual heritage from the vulgarity pressing in
                                                       on us from all sides?
                                                                                                               (Richard Wilhelm)

This site, containing extensive excerpts of the published fiction and works-in-progress of the author, is designed for those   "page-savoring" readers and writers of serious fiction languishing in a marketplace dominated by "page-turning" addicts of escapist "genre" fiction, which has all but crowded interpretive literary fiction off  the client lists of major agents and publishers.
