The Options Window

The Options Window allow users to specify the interpolation method, type of graph, drawing options, axes units, and axes values.

Display Tab

Display Options

Additional display options are available by right-clicking on the main graph.

If the Draw Interpolated Values option is unchecked, the user can enter (by adding knots) data points in arbitrary locations, such as wells on a map.

Interpolation Tab

The interpolation options allow users to specify the number of points at which interpolated values are calculated. In addition the users determine whether tsEdit interpolates between points using

  1. Cubic Spline Interpolation,
  2. Linear Interpolation,
  3. Step (piecewise constant) Interpolation, or
  4. No interpolation.

Axes Tab

The Axes Tab allows user to

  1. Determine if axes extrema are determined automatically by tsEdit,
  2. Set maximum and minimum values for axes,
  3. Use log axes. If log axes are used interpolated values are calculated at the specified number of points evenly spaced on a log scale. The interpolation itself, however, is based on values that are not log-transformed.

Units Tab

Units Options

tsEdit allows users to change and convert time units effortlessly. On the Units Options window the units of the horizontal axis are indicated in the Current Units field. Changing the Current Units field only affects the label on the time axis. For example, if the units of your actual graph are in hours but the time axis says seconds, you can correct units by changing the Current Units field.

On the other hand, if current units are actually minutes (say) and you want to convert them to hours, select "minutes" in the Current Units field, and "hours" in the Convert to Units of field, then click the Convert button. The numerical values of your time units are then changed to hours.

If you select Current Units of "none," tsEdit labels the horizontal axis as "X".

The fields labeled Quantity on Y-Axis and Units for Y-Axis affect the labels of the vertical axis.
