Littlefield Technologies
Littlefield
Technologies provides students with a simulated factory management
experience. One year of factory
operation is condensed into a one week simulation. Teams of 3-4 will seek to make management
decisions using forecasting, inventory control and plant configuration
decisions. A second simulation will
incorporate tiered contracts into the mix, giving the students a flavor for how
the various choices in Operations Management interact in a dynamic environment.
Memos
Students
will produce four memos. This first two
will be team reports based on experience with Littlefield Technologies, and
will count 30 points each. The second
two memos will provide an opportunity for students to observe aspects of
operations in a business of their choice and report.
To
receive full credit, memos must be submitted by the due date.
Homework
Homework
will be assigned from the text and reviewed in class.
