Political Science 1: Essentials of Government

Welcome to the Political Science 1 home page on the World Wide Web. These electronic pages provide information for the course Essentials of Government taught over television by Professor Robert Friedman at California State University, Sacramento. This course introduces the basics of national, state, and local governments. It is open to all students.  There are a number of options for viewing the class both in a real time fashion and on a delayed basis.

Section 11 is a hybrid course. It can be taken in ARC 1011, partially online or fully online. Section 12 is fully online but can also be taken if the classroom, if space is available.

The Professor has a virtual office hour is available on Mondays between 2-3PM. You need to make an appointment on the calendar to reserve a time slot.

Textbook information: Ginsburg, We the People: 12th Core Edition Governing California 6th Edition   A discounted package of the texts is available at the campus bookstore.  All textbooks are on reserve at the Library Reserve Book Room.  The text reading for the first few weeks is available on Canvas.
