GEOGRAPHY 102: ASSIGNMENT #7

PRESENTATION

This assignment follows ASSIGNMENT #6: RESEARCH METHODS AND BIBLIOGRAPHY both functionally and chronologically. It builds on what you uncovered--on the Internet, in the Library, in the field--for ASSIGNMENT #6. As in ASSIGNMENT #6 this assignment is in two parts. You will produce a written summary to submit to me and an illustrated oral report to share in class.

PART ONE: WRITTEN SUMMARY

After concluding your research and as you prepare an oral report for class, summarize your research topic, your research methods, and the research results in a two-page typewritten paper.

PART TWO: ILLUSTRATED ORAL REPORT

Prepare a ten-minute talk for in-class presentation. Choose a presentation date from the schedule which I'll circulate in class on Monday, November 24th. The oral presentations--typically six each class period--will begin Monday, December 1st, and extend, if necessary, through Finals Week. Be prepared to tell your classmates the genesis of your topic, how you pursued research, and what results-- even if preliminary--you have uncovered. Bring at least one graphic illustration to your talk. Use it creatively to illustrate spatial evidence or patterns you've identified.
