Visual Communication Conference
Sandpoint, Idaho
June 18-22, 2003

The Visual Communicaton Conference is a forum for the presentation of research and creative work in all areas of visual communication. The conference, now in its 17h year, is characterized by an informal structure that allows for a variety of presentation formats and extended discussions in a relaxed setting. The conference provides a unique opportunity for interaction among researchers, scholars, and artists.

Presentations of work in progress as well as research reports on finished projects, critical issues, or theory development are welcome. Most presentations last about 20 minutes. Lunch round table discussion groups and special topic panels are also scheduled. The underlying goal of the conference is to encourage helpful, stimulating discussion.

Dates:
The conference will begin Wednesday evening, June 18, 2003, with a reception (light snacks and drinks) and opening remarks. Sessions begin Thursday morning. The closing town meeting will be Sunday, June 22, 2003, following morning sessions.

Conference Registration Fee: $110
The deadline for conference registration is May 15, 2003.
In past conferences, attendees have found discussing their work in an informal setting especially valuable. A number of group meals will be included as part of the registration fee to encourage that interaction. Link to registration form.

Proposals:
The deadline for proposals is February 7, 2003.

Proposals should include a 200- to 400-word abstract and indicate the type or format of presentation, presentation time requirements, and audio-visual needs.
