SELECTED INSTITUTIONAL SERVICE

2000-Present: Committee Work. I have served on numerous committees at the department, college, and university levels. I have chaired a number of committees, such as the college level Technology Advisory Committee.  For three years I served on the Department Executive Committee and I have served on the Dean’s Advisory Council. At the university level I have worked closely with the Center for Teaching and Learning and am presently serving on the Faculty Policy Committee.

2001-Present: Program development. Since I began my career at CSUS I have been centrally involved in a number of program development initiatives. I took a lead role in the development of the new multiple subject credential program to meet the requirements of SB 2042. In addition, I took the lead on the development of two new, innovative masters programs in Teacher Education. The first is an online Masters of Arts in Education program with an emphasis on professional development. The second is a Master of Arts in Education which prepares students for the National Board certification process.

2001-Present: Assessment coordinator for the College of Education. One of my main contributions has been in the area of assessment. I have helped our college move programs forward for WASC accreditation.  I also took a lead role in preparing our SB 2042 document for CCTC. In addition, I have played an instrumental role in moving our college and department forward with the implementation of the Performance Assessment for California’s Teachers (PACT). In this capacity I have helped organize trainings, calibrations and scoring sessions for our faculty.  In addition, I have taken the lead, as portfolio manager, in developing and implementing an electronic system to support all aspects of the PACT.

2001-Present: Faculty Mentor. My expertise in professional development has allowed me to serve as a faculty mentor for others at the university.  I have designed and facilitated numerous professional development programs for university faculty focused on educational technology and on preparing curriculum for linguistically and culturally diverse populations. In all aspects of my work I collect and analyze data for evaluation.

2002-2006: Assessment Consultant.  Between 2002 and 2006 I served as a consultant for other CSU campuses as they planned for implementation of the PACT or CA TPA. I traveled to numerous campuses, provided workshops for faculty, helped them develop an implementation timeline, and helped them choose an electronic system to facilitate the gathering and reporting of student outcomes.
