Boldface = Location in Menu

1. File>Open - Open the file from Class Projects

2. File>Save As - Save in your folder, put your name at the end.

3. Format>Document Set margins (Top, Bottom, Left, Right)  at 1 inch. Set Header 1 inch from edge!

4. View>Header and Footer - Insert a header - Right justify, type your last name, Insert>Page numbers. Close header.

5. MLA - Left justify, type in the MLA format heading, font Ð Times, size 14.

6. Title - Skip a line, center title, boldface title, size 18 font.

7. Make all formatting corrections, spacing corrections, font -Times, size 14.

8. Indent all paragraphs.

9. Tools>Spelling and Grammar - Check spelling, make corrections Ð Red is spelling Ð Green is grammar.

10. Select body text - Format>Paragraph Change line spacing to 1.5 inches.  Do this only to the paragraphs.

11. Boldface vocabulary words.

12. Insert Picture>From File - Insert numbered picture from Class Projects folder called images. Select the picture that is numbered the same as the document you are working on.

13. Double Click-Layout-Tight - Turn on text wrap, place picture on right or left side, not in the middle.

14. Format>Borders and Shading>Page Border - Put a graphically pleasing border on the whole document.

15. Check 'Bird's Eye View' Ð Set percentage to 50 percent, make sure you only have one page. If you have a second page, place cursor on blank page, press delete to remove extra page. If your document does not fit on one page, make adjustments to the font size in the body so it does.

16. File>Print Preview - Check the Print Preview. This will show you exactly what it will look like when printed, look for mistakes.

17. Save and print to the PIT Draft Ð Black and White Printer (Across the Centuries 01-04). The final document will be printed to the PIT Final - Color. (Across the Centuries 05).
