Introduction
Introduction
• Congratulations! We, the Youth Publishing Company, have selected you to
write our next children’s book. Your recent submittal demonstrates your
exemplary writing skills, and we feel honored to have found you!
• With the great influx of other cultures into California and the increasing
interest in those cultures, our company has decided to write a series of
informational books about cultures, meant to inform and peak the interests of
younger children. We feel that developing cultural awareness is the first
step in developing acceptance of others.
• The Youth Publishing Company would like the first informational book to be
on the people and culture of India. We are excited to see the product you
create!

Task
- Task
• The project requires you to research information related to the
topics, write an informational piece for each topic, and select or
design a picture that depicts that topic. Remember, you are writing for
a younger audience (about 3rd grade), so be straightforward, simple, and
yet interesting!
|
Process
·
Process
• Step 1: Visit each of the sites, and write down information related to each
topic (there are three topics for research).
• Step 2: Once your notes are compiled, write an informative, coherent
paragraph about each topic related to India.
• Step 3: Place each paragraph on its own page and include (at a minimum) one
picture that best represents that topic. Each page needs a title.
• Step 4: Create a cover for your informational children’s book. Make it
attractive and interesting, so children will run to grab it off the shelf!
• Step 5: Bound your book together, and submit it to the Youth Publishing
Company. Following a successful review, you will receive your commission.
