Introduction

You have just been elected Mayor of Sacramento. Your first task is the revitalization of the downtown area. Three large buildings currently house profitable businesses, but they are ugly. The budget allows for city art and you have decided to hire three separate artists to create murals on these structures. Who will you hire? And why?

Task

You must select three different artists to paint three separate buildings. You will submit a brief explanation for choosing each artist along with a sample of his/her work.

Process

· You must visit one or more of the sites below and view a selection of various artist’s work. Once you have selected three different artists you will create a Word document with the artist’s name, brief description of his/her style and a sample of their work.

Resources

· Review this website to search for a variety of street artists. Locate all you can about the artist’s background and style, noting common themes or messages. http://www.graffiti.org/index/artists.html

Evaluation

· Your project is worth 30 points total.

· 15 points for the Artist Research Portion (5 points each)

· 15 points for the Building Design Portion (5 points each)

Conclusion

· You have reviewed and selected three artists to beautify Sacramento and you have helped them get started by suggesting a few ideas. Good work!
